As a child, I was introduced to photography by my father. I can clearly remember the thrill of watching him develop black & white prints in the darkroom. Seeing those photos magically appear in the dim red light hooked me for life. Although I rarely do any kind of lab or darkroom work anymore (99.999% of my photography these days is digital), I still have a lifelong love for photography.

I got my first "good" camera, a Yashica twin-lens, while still in high school in the late '60s. Through a 4-year stint in the Air Force, I aquired several more cameras, including a Minolta SRT-101 which I literally wore out. The photography was kind of shelved, until early 1987, when I became a founding member of the Northeast Photographer's Association, named for Kansas City's historic Northeast district where we started. NPA later became known as the Kansas City Metro Photographer's Association. I served as Vice-Chairman for several years, and Chairman from late 1991 to the end of 2001. I am also a past board member of the Society for Contemporary Photography.

I have photographed for clients ranging from Michael Friedman Publishing in New York to the Carriage House Resort in Eureka Springs, Ar. I have photographed for many local clients including The Kansas City Museum, The Kansas City Historical Society, The Waldo Astoria Dinner Theatre, Career Images Model & Talent Agency, and many more.

My specialties include model portfolio/glamour/beauty photography, and environmental portraits. I also do many types of commercial photography including small product/catalog work, interior/exterior architectural photography, event photography, and many other types of photography.
